Amidst a politically and socially huge crowd of jnu students today on 5th. Of feb. a seminar called “the need of good governance or creating small state” under annual Poorvanchal summit was organized in the auditorium of School of Arts and Aesthetics which was attented by the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shri R P N singh who was also the chief guest of the evening. The main concern of the summit was the social deprived nature and economic backwardness of the Hindi speaking belt of Eastern UP which has started being called and categorically demanded by the Poorvanchal forum which was created around a decade ago and which is currently headed by Wasim Saghar Azmi, a political activist and social worker, who spoke in the favor of coming that Hindi belt out of deprivedness and economic isolation by whichever means, be it a creation of small state or good governance over the region by the state.

The very topic of the summit was the need of good governance or creating small state which initiated by an opening lecture by the convener of the forum Wasim Saghar Azmi, who actually defined the proposed state as economically lame and socially backward, followed by presenting bouquet to the speakers and chief guests and passed the word to Shri RPN singh who was also of the same opinion of a state which could be well employed and well taken care of as far as economy, polity and education are concerned among various other important issued.

Floor was later open to the audience to ask questions and was properly addressed by the chief guest and also Gen. Sec. of IYC Shri Nadeem Javed who spoke 10 minutes about the concerned topic. The curiosity of the students were quite clear when some the important questions were raised about the separation of the state and some being of anti opinion of no need for formation of a new state but certainly of good governance over the existing region. Also at length the issue of Telangana state was discussed and comparatively related when one of the audiences asked question about what government thinks about the creation of Telangana? The question was directed to the Minister of State and was well responded with some sort of reservation as government authority but the folk was ensured the govt. is working out over the issue and an expected positive move is a recent solution to the issue. Overall there was a mix positive response by the students having a healthy discussion amid the authorities and the political and social workers having different ideologies and that was well encouraged as a welcoming topic of debate and discussion.
